Default Ignore list bug?

There was an annoying guy spamming me while I was trading so I added him to my ignore list. However, he logged in as another character and whispered me and continued to annoy me. I had to add his other character to my ignore list. Is this supposed to happen?

He probably just logged onto another account and messaged you from that account, requiring you to block both accounts to effectively block him.

Yes ignore lists are account based. Many players have multiple accounts so they can just log on to a different account and spam you.

If they are really bothering you: screenshot and send to support, they will get a 72-hour ban (happened to a guildie of mine. He was multi-account spamming somebody, got 8 accounts banned for 72 hours for disruptive behaviour).

like the others have said. I mean we've all doen it at some point or another( like when you've been scammed). So its not uncommon. But yea its not a bug.. just another account more thn likely.( also just to know.. what was he spamming you about? hacking, gold for rl money, u scammed him, he wanted something etc,)

Same thing happened to me, only the guy used 3 accounts and his offending words caused him to be banned and lose all 3 accounts.

Thank you for the replies, multiple accounts is probably the correct explaination. He was spamming me because I wasn't selling something to him at the price he wanted. I guess he really wanted it badly enough to continue annoying me.

I've never added anyone to my ignore list. Just out of interest, how many people have?

there is a bug where you can bypass someone's ignore list. i'm not sure if its easily reproducible, or how to do it, but it definitely exists.

Also, a stupid feature of the ignore list is that it can only hold 10 people/accounts.

Don't use your ignore list, it creates a vacuum of anti-social thoughts and therefore the aftermath will cause the coding to inplode.

If the keyboard warriors are getting to you so much that you require the ignore list, I think you need to take things more lightly, perhaps as much as a joke from a friend; or just report them for disruptive behaviour.

It's more the annoyance part of it rather than not taking it lightly. Ever been reading team/guild/ally chat or another PM and someone else keeps pusing it out of the way, not to mention that on several occasions...(which prompted me to use the real ignore list, and not me just ignoring them) I'd be talking to a friend in PM and some ******* idiot keeps messaging me shit and i accidentally reply to the idiot on more than on occasion. This prompts him to then reply with many "whut" "what" "lolwuts"... agitating.

I've added a few, but generally remove them after a week or so. Most people who play GW have the attention span of a gnat, so your ignore list can be pretty short.
